Update

Welcome to the official Ezra blog, I plan to use this blog for medical updates for families and friends, and most importantly for Ezra to have to look back on someday. Thanks so much Leslie for designing this blog, its beautiful, someday Ezra is really going to appreciate it.

As most of you know we are back in the hospital. We have been here a week now, and are not leaving anytime soon. You can read what landed us back at the hospital here.

Ezra had a blood infection called Pseudomonas. He is receiving 14 days of antibiotics to wipe it out. It is a common infection that kids with ALL get, but is deadly if not treated immediately.

Today he had to have a surgery to remove his port. It had become infected. They can’t say if the other infection caused it or if it is another infection by itself. The Dr. said it was surrounded by a sea of puss….lovely.

So last night they put a PICC in place so they can administer his chemo and antibiotics through that.

Then in a few weeks he will receive another port , as long as his counts are still up.  Hopefully this one will not become infected.

I was told today we are looking at least another week of hospital time. This is so hard on all of us.

I miss my husband, I miss Rowan, I miss my bed, and I miss my sanity.

  2. I just wanted to say, all four of you are in my prayer and thoughts often. I pray for Rowan too. I have two boys and if either one of them got extreamly sick or had to be away from eachother, it would crush them. And I am guessing his world has been changed also.I hope you have a good support system and can talk to people, mothers, that have gone through this and that you can relate to. I wish I could give more support finanically, sorry, but I will keep posting his story and try and get the word out. Thank you for sharing your story.

  3. Hang in there. I'm sure it's easier for me to say than for you to do but I keep you & Ezra and your family in my prayers, and I've never even met you..But as a mom I can't imagine going through what you are, and being as strong as you are. I'll definately eat at Chikfila on June 29th!!

  10. WOW...haven't checked on Ezra lately other than waiting for Oprah to reply!!!! and having the link I made on my blog from your first day so am glad I came and found the new Ezra site so I can change the link on BOOKIN'WITH BINGO. Have had a family cancer issue going on and that is why I hadn't checked in sooner. I hate the C word! God bless you and Ezra and keep up that brave front, Mom, but also give yourself a break every now and then! All positive thoughts and prayers are coming your way, believe in that! Glad to see so many people rally around since day one! Karen
